Spatial Analysis of Home Depot Store Locations in Ontario
This project explored the spatial distribution of Home Depot stores across Ontario using GIS tools to better understand how retail locations are organized across the province. I began by mapping the store locations and analyzing their spatial patterns to determine whether they formed clusters or were evenly distributed. Using spatial statistics such as mean center and standard distance, I identified the geographic center of the store network and measured how widely locations were dispersed. I then compared the distribution patterns between Northern and Southern Ontario to highlight regional differences in store placement. Through this analysis, the project provided insights into how retail locations are strategically positioned and demonstrated how spatial analysis can support location planning and business decision-making.
